Residents of long-term care facilities have been subject to strict visitation policies for months since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Find information and resources below on the latest federal guidance on visitation and things to look for as visitors begin to be permitted into facilities. Ombudsman program representatives are encouraged to stay in communication with their State Long-Term Care Ombudsman for their program's policies, procedures, and practices during the pandemic. These resources are intended to support representatives in performing duties during COVID-19 such as conducting visits safely, responding to and documenting complaints, and communicating with residents and family members.
