The focus of the September call was on the Ombudsman program role in Emergency Preparedness. We were joined by Maria Greene, NORC Consultant, and Donna Case, Regional Long-Term Care Ombudsman, North Carolina. Maria reviewed nursing facility requirements for emergency preparedness and shared tips for Ombudsman programs before, during, and after disasters. Donna shared her experience responding to flooding due to Hurricane Helene and lessons learned for future emergencies.
