Shifting population in California nursing homes creates ‘dangerous mix’

An investigation from the Sacramento Bee reveals a divergent population in California nursing homes "old, young, mentally ill, convicted felons, street people in desperate need of care, and younger clients with chronic illnesses, brain injuries and drug abuse problems." This mix of residents can often cause issues within nursing homes that results in a decrease in quality of care.
