Ohio Ombudsmen Work to Protect Resident's Right to Vote During Pandemic

Along with other long-term care advocates and voters' rights advocates, Ohio State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Beverley Laubert, discussed her concerns about the availablity of clear information regarding voting for residents and their facilities. Other advocates say that assisted and independent living facilities do not receive the same access to resources as nursnig homes.

Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose directed boards of elections to contact facilities to help residents vote. Elections officials are to be given access to facilities no matter what the visitation policies are.
