Michigan Ombudsmen Serve on Elder Abuse Task Force

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel joined with Supreme Court Justices Richard Bernstein and Megan Cavanagh announced the formation of the Michigan Elder Abuse Task Force. Proposed changes include addressing guardianship and getting a proposal to certify professional guardians to the Michigan Legislature by June.  Justice Bernstein spoke about what it must be like to be under guardianship, relating it to an experience in his own life.  Dana Nessel and Justice Cavanagh announced they will be holding listening sessions around the state starting in June.  

The State Long Term Care Ombudsman, Assistant SLTCO and three senior program representatives are serving on the Task Force, along with additional partners.
