Linda Kerdolff, managing ombudsman for southwest Ohio, was interviewed to discuss staffing issues as this is expected to be a major issue discussed during the Ohio Nursing Home Quality and Accountability Task Force's upcoming Cincinnati listening sessions. The task force is holding a series of discussions with community members around the state to hear their experiences with nursing homes, which will shape recommendations they will make to the Governor's office by the end of May.
Kerdolff says staffing is a major issue their office hears about as well because it's the root of many other complaints, and that it is a chronic problem that they've been hearing about for quite some time, though they were exacerbated by the pandemic.
