Ohio State Ombudsman Erin Pettegrew Quoted Discussing How Systemic Failures in Nursing Homes Led to Outbreaks

Erin Pettegrew, the Acting Ohio State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, was quoted in an article discussing outbreaks in Ohio nursing homes. Erin said that according to survey data, nursing home system failures were to blame for the outbreaks and resulting deaths. She also went on to say that when outbreaks occurred, residents and families are not always being informed as they should be and in many cases it can be difficult to get in touch with anyone from the facility over the phone.
