Oregon State Ombudsman, Fred Steele, Interviewed on Nursing Home Emergency Shut Down

After a resident death, the Oregon State Ombudsman, Fred Steele, opened an investigation into a facility. Steele said the Ombudsman program investigates about 3,000 complaints into long-term care facilities a year while also advocating for residents when they have concerns. The facility had several violations before being forced to shut down.
