Oregon State Ombudsman Fred Steele Quoted on Effects of Omicron on Long-Term Care Facilities

Fred Steele, the Oregon State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, was interviewed to discuss the surge of the COVID-19 Omicron variant and its effect on long-term care facilities in Oregon. Fred detailed the underreporting of vaccination rates in facilities, and the severe understaffing facilities are currently experiencing. Additionally, Fred shared that facilities must allow visitors for residents in a safe manner, in order to combat the emotional trauma residents experienced while facilities were locked down.
