Position title: Director of the DC Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program (LTCOP)
The AARP Legal Counsel for the Elderly (LCE) provides a wide range of free civil legal services and advocacy to District residents age 60+ as well as serving as the home for the DC Long-term Care Ombudsman Program. The LTCOP Director oversees a staff of 12 and a large cadre of volunteers helping to resolve individual disputes in long-term care facilities as well as with home health care. Additionally the ombudsman plays a key role in setting and influencing policy concerning this constituency.
Requires completion of a graduate degree in public administration, social work or law, knowledge of the laws and regulations pertaining to long-term care, experience in management of staff and volunteers, and a demonstrated commitment to serving this population or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
