June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD)

Every year on June 15th, communities around the world join to commemorate World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). Since its inception, WEAAD has provided an opportunity to promote awareness of—and critical actions from all over the world that addresses—abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older people. 

To help you observe WEAAD 2026, the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) has created a WEAAD toolkit which includes fact sheets, sample articles and proclamations, graphics, sample social media content, and more tips and tools.
