Pennsylvania State Ombudsman, Margaret Barajas, Interviewed on Stimulus Checks in Nursing Homes

The Long-Term Care Ombusman Program and the Attorney General's Office in Pennsylvania have reported an increase in complaints related to finances, many of which are about the $1,200 stimulus checks distributed by the federal government. The state has seen many instances of facilities taking the checks from the residents, which has also been seen in other states across the country. The SLTCOP has worked to get information to residents about their right to the stimulus checks. These stimulus checks offer residents the chance to purchase technology that will connect them with the outside world during their isolation.
